With the climate constantly shifting and global warming causing water levels to rise it is interesting to note some alternatives to building on land, in particular this home built on Lake Huron in Ontario Canada. The pontoons supporting the underbelly of this popsicle stick looking house call to mind houses of the south pacific that are held up by bamboo sticks, but rather laying on their side. Anyone who is a first year architecture major at Wentworth Institute of Technology should take specific notice of the elevations used to map the house. Because the house has such smooth flowing lines it is easy to imagine drawing this with a pencil, noting where to apply pressure and where to let up on the weight.
